Hotel Astra

When you first arrive at the hotel for a ski trip, the girl working at the reception doesn't explain anything, she just gives you the door card and you don't give any more information, you have to ask everything. There is also no culture at the reception, never saying hello. The rooms are old fashioned and need restoration. The bedding set is suitable for children, if you are +180 cm tall, the ends of your legs will fall off. Bad experience 2/5…

Myself and 15 others recently stayed in Hotel Astra and to be quite honest we will never be returning back to this hotel. After careful conversation with the hotel before arrival we received a confirmation email to say that yes the ski passes are included in the price that we paid to stay. Upon arrival we were almost laughed at when we asked for our ski passes as we were told that one of their colleagues made a mistake and it was not included, even though we had printed out the confirmation email and shown the staff. This seems to be a trend in some of the reviews so I would most definitely describe this hotel as a scam. After we reluctantly left the reception without our ski passes what we were to expect next wasn't a surprise based on the poor level of communication from the staff. Some beds had horrific stains on them, there was not enough pillows, bedsheets or towels in the building for each person and there's was a sever lack of plug sockets in each cabin. As we travelled as a group of 16 people we stayed in 3 different cabins and this was the same for each cabin so it cannot be described as a 'once off event'. Would never recommend this place to others and I hope this review stops another group from being scammed.

A group of us stayed for 7 nights. We had rented 3 of the apartments in their chalets. The sheets and towels were not changed once. The sheets and pillows had stains and rips all over. One of our pillows was not even a pillow of the apartment as it was someone's personal pillow that had been left before - different covering and a name written on it that did not belong to us. When we went to check in I had all the confirmations printed. We had emailed and written confirmation our ski passes were included and when I arrived to check in for all of us, we were told it was about an extra 5,000euros!!! Even though it had been confirmed - we were not given ski passes. And with this inconvenience and denial of what was written in confirmation, nothing was done to try and alleviate the problem whether with discounted ski passes or any refund. Would not return.

I was unpleasantly surprised by the fact the the "free livigno ski passes" that are promoted on the official website are not what you might think. I came to Livigno for 5 days and booked my stay at Hotel Astra through livigno's website thinking that I will get my free ski pass as promised. But when I arrived at the hotel I got told that I am eligible for a 3 day ski pass and not for my full stay at the hotel (which is 5 days). Upon talking with the Ski Pass office they told me that this is a private agreement between the hotels and Livigno and that you get a free pass for the number of nights you spend at the hotel -1. Not only that but they told me that I could not find this information anywhere on the website and that I "should have asked the hotel about the duration of my free ski pass" before booking it. Overall a very bad start of the holiday. Not to mention that our double room was very tight with two metal spring beds and stains on the white sheets.

Clearly a 3 star hotel. Nice position but the room are old and small. Anyway, clean and nice service will give the extra star on this review. I stayed for a full week and I cannot complain. The sauna its small and nothing to compare with the picture on the various website. The gym does not exist; its only an exercise bike and a trade mill in the same room of the sauna........ Hotel restaurant its the best part, great food and great service.
